That’s the thing with veganism. It’s not about being perfect or getting it right the first time around. A decade in, I’m still learning and altering my stance on certain things while trying to honor my initial goal, which is simply to tread a little more lightly on this planet of ours. For me, it’s a continuing balancing act whereby you weigh the pros and cons of each individual choice. It’s always in flux and, in my opinion, there are many shades of gray. I don’t find dogmatism helpful to the movement or prospective vegans.
